Rosebushes
If you really love roses but hate paying the exhorbitant prices that a florist charges, you should think about planting rosebushes. We've planted dozens of white rosebushes around our house, and my husband is forever cutting them and putting them into vases, and I love it. The secret is: rose food. If you put this on the bushes, you will be handsomely rewarded! Keep in mind, though, that there are two downsides to rosebushes: thorns and deadheading. It's important to cut the heads off the dead roses because the bushes will bloom again that much sooner, but it's difficult to do because of all the thorns. Just make sure to wear heavy gloves.
